Manatee County seeking applications for Construction Trades Board (4)

MANATEE COUNTY, FL  (April 15, 2022) — Manatee County is now accepting applications for four openings on the Construction Trades Board. Two (2) openings are for consumer representatives, and two (2) others are for state-licensed contractors.

The Construction Trades Board regulates state and local contractors and licensed local contractors within unincorporated Manatee County. The Construction Trades Board has the authority to discipline anyone who violates applicable local code, State Statutes or Florida Building Code provisions pertaining to the activities of licensed contractors, including the authority to suspend and or revoke their licenses and impose monetary fines.

The following board positions are open – and need to be filled:

• General Contractor (seat #1)
• Commercial Swimming Pool Contractor (seat #2)
• Consumer Representative (seat #5)
• Consumer Representative (seat #6)

The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, as needed, at 3 p.m. in the Patricia M. Glass Chambers, located at 1112 Manatee Ave West, Bradenton.

Applications are due June 1, 2022.
