Man playing basketballMANATEE COUNTY, FL (November 3, 2022) – It’s a whole new ballgame at Manatee County’s East Bradenton Park. The newly updated facility—located at 1119 13th Street East in Bradenton—has undergone some recent renovations designed to create more robust recreational opportunities for guests of all ages.

Crews are reconfiguring the old baseball diamond to create a new multipurpose field—perfect for football, soccer, or lacrosse. In addition to adding a second lighted basketball court, new walking trails have been constructed, allowing increased access to fitness amenities. There is also a new challenge course playground reminiscent of the popular “American Ninja” contests that will challenge kids and adults alike.

This is an outstanding addition to the community,” said Manatee County Administrator Scott Hopes. “We’re excited to show this place off.”

And so on November 14, 2022, community leaders and County officials will gather to dedicate the new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. A reopening celebration for the community will follow from 5 to 6 p.m., which includes a free basketball clinic with GT Bray Recreation Coordinator Malik Barton.
