On August 27, Manatee County EMS employees will see their salaries increase as part of a new pay structure approved by the Manatee County Board of Commissioners.

These pay changes will make Manatee County EMS a leader in pay for the Tampa Bay Region:

  • Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT): $46,500 - $67,000 annually
  • Charge Paramedics: $57,300 - $80,200 annually

Manatee County EMS employees can qualify for additional performance payments, merit raises and promotional opportunities.

“We are pleased to provide competitive compensation and benefits for these important first-responders,” said Manatee County Administrator Scott Hopes. “Keeping these well-trained and talented employees here to protect and serve Manatee County is vital.”

Manatee County EMS is a government-run, non-fire-based emergency medical service. Serving a population of over 410,000 people, Manatee EMS responds to all pre-hospital medical calls for service in the 748 square miles of Manatee County and 150 miles of coastal waterways.

“This is great news for our employees, who all work incredibly hard, and these wage increases will help retain and attract employees to Manatee County,” said Acting Public Safety Director Robert Reinshuttle. “I’m excited about what these changes will mean for the Manatee County EMS system.”
