Manatee County Inspections Department now offers VuSpex, a virtual building inspection tool that provides inspection services to contractors remotely with the use of any electronic device. With Vuspex, inspectors can thoroughly perform virtual inspections from any location. Advantages of Virtual Inspections through VuSpex:

The following inspection types are now available virtually:
- 106- Roof Sheathing
- 107- Wall Sheathing
- 117- Building Final - Siding & Mobile Home records only
- 134- Siding Nailing
- 139/800 - Combined Dry-In Flashing in Progress (Shingle Roof, Tile, Metal, or TPO with Peel & Stick Only)
- 140/801- Roof Dry In & Flashing (Shingle Roof, Tile, Metal, or TPO with Peel & Stick Only)
- 132/804 Roof In Progress (Shingle Roof, Tile, Metal, or TPO with Peel & Stick Only)
- 141- Door/Window Bucks
- 208- Service Change
- 403- Sewer
- 302-Mechanical Final
- 404-Water Service
- 803-Roof Final Express (Peel & Stick Only)
- Plumbing Final - Video Inspection (Plumbing Express only)
- Mechanical Final-Video Inspection
Contractors must have a cell phone with adequate resolution and signal quality and must be able to download the VuSpex GO App.
VuSpex Contractor Portal On July 1st 2023 Contractor Portal will no longer be supported. Please ensure you have downloaded the VuSpex GO App from either the Google Play Store or App store. The VuSpex GO App is more reliable, intuitive and the functionality remains the same.
To perform an offline field report inspection or live virtual inspection, you will need to download the VuSpex GO App from the App Store or Google Play. Then, follow the instructions in the VuSpex Field Report User Guide.
