Water Conservation in Home & Business Landscapes

Our purpose is to provide University-based information to residents so they may learn to reduce their usage of drinking-quality water for irrigation while maintaining attractive, healthy landscapes.

The Mobile Irrigation Lab performs FREE landscape irrigation evaluations that can help residents save water and money.  Learn how to have your landscape irrigation system evaluated.

Residential Landscapes & Master Gardeners

This program provides the following services to Manatee County residents:

  • Plant Diagnostic Clinic open to the public Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at 1303 17th Street W, Palmetto
  • Submit your questions for our Plant Diagnostic Clinic Volunteers HERE
  • Visit our educational gardens.  Call to schedule a tour.
  • Speakers Bureau
  • Diagnosing plant problems
  • Insect and Reptile identification
  • Soil and water testing for pH and salt only

The Commercial Landscape Horticulture program provides unbiased and current information for maintaining Florida friendly landscapes to horticulture service providers, in business or in public service, such as:

  • County and municipal departments and employees
