Invite for Public Hearing & Grant Application Workshop Manatee County FY2025/26 Annual Action Plan
Public Hearing
As a recipient of US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds, Manatee County is required to develop an Annual Action Plan to carry out projects that address the priority needs identified in the 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan. Manatee County anticipates receiving about $2.5 million from HUD for its Program Year 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan to primarily serve low-to-moderate income households and other special populations such as individuals experiencing homelessness, vulnerable children, senior citizens, and individuals living with disabilities. Manatee County residents and, in particular, public housing residents, public and private agencies, businesses, and other interested parties are invited and encouraged to attend so they may voice their concerns and express their opinions on the community's priority needs. The topics to be discussed include affordable housing development and homeownership, healthy neighborhoods, health and human services, homeless shelter development and strategies to address homelessness, recreational opportunities, infrastructure improvements, planning, and public management.
Application Workshop
Manatee County is also inviting all non-profit agencies serving Manatee County residents with housing, public services, and community development needs to join our Grant Application Workshop. The Workshop will give details and answer questions regarding the application for the expected $2.5Million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Programs (HOME), and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Manatee County anticipates receiving from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for FY 25/26.
CDBG, HOME, and ESG grants may fund projects and programs that address the priority needs of the community related to healthy neighborhoods, economic development, home ownership & affordable housing development, health and human services, strategies for the homeless, recreational opportunities, infrastructure improvements, planning, and public management.
This year, Manatee County is also soliciting applications for three special funding sources under the Community Development Block Grant – CARES Act (CDBG-CV), HOME Investment Partnership Programs – American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP), and Emergency Solutions Grant - Rapid Unsheltered Survivor Housing (ESG-RUSH). Special focus of the CDBG-CV, HOME-ARP, and ESG-RUSH grants will be given to strategies to serve individuals and families living in homeless shelters and future projects to assist vulnerable Manatee County residents.
