Pet Adoption Fees & Policies

CONTACT US +

We are glad you have decided to add a new pet from our organization.

The majority of our adoptable animals come into our shelter as strays. We cannot guarantee the health or behavior of any of our animals because their history is generally unknown. There is a chance that our animals could be incubating a disease without showing any clinical signs. Because of the possibility, we strongly recommend that you take the animal to your vet as soon as possible for an examination.

Adoption Fees

  • Dogs/Puppies: $50
  • Kittens(2m-1yr): $50
  • Cats: $25

The adoption fees that we collect help us provide food, shelter, important medical care and inoculations for the animals. Each adoption fee includes the following for your new pet (retail value is approximately $400).

  • Spay or Neuter (FSS 823.15 requires that any dog or cat adopted from an animal shelter must be surgically sterilized)
  • Initial Vaccines
  • Deworming
  • Microchip Implant (all animals)
  • FeLV/FIV Combo Test (cats only)
  • Parvovirus testing on puppies (if needed)
  • Rabies Vaccine and County License
  • Flea and Tick Prevention
  • Monthly Parasite Prevention (while pet was at shelter)
  • Heartworm Testing (dogs 6 months of age or older) If dog tested positive, treatment is included.

We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason, including but not limited to the following criteria: persons with a history of losing, giving away, abusing, selling or having animals that were injured or killed by a moving vehicle. No animal will be adopted to anyone who misleads or fails to provide accurate information on the adoption application.
