Investment Policy Advisory Board

Purpose

The purpose of the Investment Policy Advisory Board is to support the investment objectives of safety of capital, liquidity of funds and investment income. Abiding by the current approved investment policy, this board will make recommendations and discuss opportunities with the investing consulting firm.

Membership Requirements

The Committee shall consist of the following:
  • The Clerk of Court
  • Clerk authorized staff
  • (1) One County Commissioner
  • (1) One Representative from the public who is a resident of Manatee County who is an investment professional with a valid certification
Members of the Committee shall complete eight (8) hours of continuing education in subjects or courses related to investment practices and products annually. The Committee shall act solely on oversight capacity to prepare reports and recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Application

Applications are only accepted when there are advertised vacancies on the board. Applicants for the Investment Policy Advisory Board must complete the application, including the supplemental questions on page four, and provide a current and comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae. All documents must be completed and submitted for the applicant to be considered for appointment. The application form is available for downloading on the Apply for an Advisory Board page. The current open application ends on November 10, 2023.
