Purpose
The Public Safety Coordinating Council shall assess the population status of all correctional facilities to ensure the authorized capacities of such facilities, as established by the Florida Department of Corrections, are not exceeded, and make recommendations as to release programs, gain-time schedules, applicable bail bond schedules, and confinement status of inmates housed within each facility owned by the County. The Council may also develop a local correctional facilities plan for future construction needs.
Membership Requirements
Membership shall be as specified by Chapter 951.26, Florida Statutes.
Applications
The Advisory Board application must be completed and submitted for the applicant to be considered for appointment. The application is available for downloading on the Apply for an Advisory Board page.

Meetings
The Public Safety Coordinating Council has elected to meet on the following dates in 2022 from Noon to 1:30 PM: January 19, March 16 (cancelled), May 18, July 20, September 21 and November 16.
All meetings will be in the Manatee County Government Administration Building, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Manatee/Osprey Room, Fifth Floor, Bradenton, FL, 34205, unless otherwise noticed.
Meetings may be rescheduled, or a special meeting called by the council at any regular meeting.
