Manatee County to hold East County Library Groundbreaking Ceremony

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 14, 2021) – Manatee County Libraries is excited to announce the groundbreaking ceremony of the East County Branch Library on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m., located at 16410 Rangeland Parkway, Lakewood Ranch, 34211.

A Phase I Premier Campus Project, the library will be located on the first floor of a 50,000 square-foot building which will include a rooftop terrace overlooking the planned Premier Park. The architect for this project is Fawley Bryant Architecture, and the construction manager is Willis Smith Construction.

“This is yet another big step in our five-year capital improvement plan,” said Manatee County Government Administrator Dr. Scott Hopes. “It’s good to see it coming out of the ground."

East County Library, which is anticipated to be completed by 2024, will be the seventh full-service branch of the Manatee County Public Library System.

“It’s monumental,” said District 5 Commissioner Vanessa Baugh. “I’m so excited to see a major project like this coming to fruition.”
