MANATEE COUNTY, FL (December 9, 2024) – Manatee County is making significant strides in hurricane recovery, clearing over 2 million cubic yards of debris from this year's trio of hurricanes. This volume is equivalent to 2 million ovens!
As the cleanup continues, residents are reminded to place any remaining debris at the curb (not in roadways) no later than December 20, 2024. Proper debris separation is crucial to avoid delays in pickup. Residents are encouraged to report or update their debris information by visiting mymanatee.org/debris.
Debris Separation categories:
- Vegetative Debris: Branches, leaves, tree limbs
- Construction & Demolition: Building materials, furniture
- White Goods: Appliances, such as refrigerators and stoves
It is important that debris piles are at least 3 feet away from cars, mailboxes, power lines, backflow preventers, and other debris piles.
Additional Information:
- Trash and recycling schedules remain as normal through the process.
- The County Landfill (3333 Lena Rd., Bradenton 34211) will resume normal hours December 20 (Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
- Residents are encouraged to report or update their debris information by visiting mymanatee.org/debris.
The remaining debris may take the next month to continue collecting. Your support and debris separation are critical to ensure timely pickups. However, we cannot provide a specific pickup date for your area due to the process of debris collection. Manatee County appreciates the community's patience and cooperation throughout this recovery effort.
