MANATEE COUNTY, FL (January 10, 2025) – Manatee County is accepting applications for a seat on the Manatee County Library Advisory Board.

This board serves in an advisory capacity to the Library Services Manager and assists the Manatee Board of County Commissioners in providing and improving library services throughout the County in compliance with Florida law. The primary function of the Library Advisory Board is to advise and make recommendations to the Manatee Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the County library system.

The openings are appointed by the Manatee Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). Currently, there is an opening for a representative for the island communities. The applicant must be a resident of Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, or the Town of Longboat Key. Each member is appointed for a term of four years. The advisory board meets on the third Wednesday of each month in the Downtown Central Library (1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton).

Each applicant must submit an online application by February 5, 2025. Please note that all information provided within applications will be made public. All applicants must complete the updated online application, even if they have applied previously.
