Fee-Waived Adoptions for “One & Only” Pets
02/14/2024
Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) is helping connect pets with their “one-and-only.” There are some pets who want to be the only one in the household. These pets are great with their humans and have all the love in the world to give to you. In celebration of these solo pets, MCAW is running a special promotion starting on Valentine’s Day called "One & Only!" From February 14 to 18, adoption fees are waived for the pets in our adoption centers who prefer to be your special only pet.

MCAW Dog Park Day Out

Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) is getting ready for Dog Park Day Out at the Laurie Crawford Dog Park at G.T. Bray Park on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This exciting field trip for our pups to the Dog Park is FREE and open to the public, giving pet lovers an opportunity to experience the joy of playgroups with those adorable and adoptable dogs. These playgroups are the cornerstone of enrichment activities at MCAW.

Clear the Shelters at MCAW this August
08/01/2023
Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) will once again participate in “Clear the Shelters,” the annual, nationwide pet adoption drive, starting on Tuesday, August 1 and running through Thursday, August 31. For the entire month, adoption fees will be waived for all pets. Since its inception in 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped more than 860,000 pets find new homes.

Foster a Pet This Thanksgiving

Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) wants to change that. MCAW Adoption Centers Open Late This Wednesday

Celebrate Valentine's Day by Adopting a Pet

Manatee County's only open-admission shelter will offer waived adoption fees for six pets (referred to as “The Lonely Hearts Club”) who have been in the care of MCAS for extended periods of time. All other pets will have reduced adoption fees of $10 from February 12-18.

$10 Dog Adoptions at MCAS in October

For the shelter dogs at Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS), there’s something special happening this October. No, it’s not spooky sweaters or Halloween treats—it’s the promise of a better life. October is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, which means it’s the perfect opportunity to help our homeless pets find loving, happy homes. Currently, MCAS has 92 dogs and 114 cats at the shelter.

MCAS to Host Free Clinic at Rocky Bluff Library

$10 Adoption Fees Memorial Day Weekend

For three days only, Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) will be reducing adoption fees this Memorial Day Weekend. From Friday, May 28 - Sunday, May 30, all pet adoption fees will be $10 at both MCAS locations. Year-round, MCAS waives adoption fees for veterans, military and first responders.

MCAS HOSTS FREE PET CLINIC AT G.T. BRAY PARK

With Hurricane Season starting in June, Manatee County Animal Services wants to make sure pet owners are prepared in the event of a disaster. Manatee County Animal Services and Commissioner Kevin Van Ostenbridge are hosting a free pet vaccination, microchip and licensing clinic for Manatee County pet owners on Sunday, May 23.

Fee-Waived Adoptions for All Pets Through February 28 at MCAS

In the spirit of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday, Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) is offering fee-waived adoptions, in lieu of a donation to Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS), for all pets from February 13 - February 28. Adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate -- a value of over $300 in savings. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $20. At the time of this release, MCAS has 47 dogs and 13 cats at the shelter.

MCAS Offering Free Pet Food at Cat Town

Manatee County Animal Services will give out free pet food, kitty litter and pet treats starting today, March 31 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m at Manatee County Cat Town, 216 6th Ave E, Bradenton. The freebies, donated by Florida State Animal Response Coalition, Chewy.com and the Greater Good, will be given out all this week (from 10-2 each weekday) while supplies last.

MCAS Clear the Shelters On Saturday, August 17

Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) announced that it will join with News Channel 8 WFLA to host Clear the Shelters fifth annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 17. On this day, MCAS will offer waived pet adoption fees as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to help families find and adopt homeless pets. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has resulted in more than 256,688 pet adoptions nationwide.

Manatee County Animal Services Announces Seasonal Hours

Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) will be open 7 days a week starting on November 1. No one wants to spend the holidays alone, including our homeless pets who are looking for a second chance at a forever home. Through no fault of their own, they have been rescued by MCAS and now await a warm bed to cuddle up in and have a loving family to call their own. MCAS hopes that extending to 7 days a week at the Palmetto Location, will make visiting the shelter easier during this already busy holiday season.

Adopt-A-Palooza Dazzles and Clear the Shelters Coming Soon

MCAS and WFLA-TV / News Channel 8 (“WFLA”) is excited to announce the return of the popular pet adoption drive, Clear the Shelters. Launching in August and culminating with ‘Clear the Shelters’ Day on Saturday, August 18, MCAS will be waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats for this one day only. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $15 tag fee. All pets will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
