MANATEE COUNTY, FL (December 2, 2022) – Manatee County Public Works infrastructure inspectors are overseeing the work of a contractor restoring the two Northbound left-turn-lanes on Lorraine Road (to head West onto State Road 70) after a void was detected beneath this section of roadway.

A directional drill hit to a Braden River Utilities reclaimed water line—that has now been repaired—undermined the roadway at that intersection. Crews will continue to work to shore up the location and restore at least one of the turn lanes by this afternoon; however, the left/west side turn lane (for motorists turning to head westbound to SR70) may remain closed over weekend.
