MCAW Dogs Taking Field Trip to the ParkMANATEE COUNTY, FL (November 29, 2023) – Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) is getting ready for Dog Park Day Out at the Laurie Crawford Dog Park at G.T. Bray Park on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This exciting field trip for our pups to the Dog Park is FREE and open to the public, giving pet lovers an opportunity to experience the joy of playgroups with those adorable and adoptable dogs. These playgroups are the cornerstone of enrichment activities at MCAW.

“Not only do these supervised playdates offer endless tail-wagging fun, but they also help dogs build social skills, burn energy and boost their overall well-being,” said Animal Welfare Division Chief Sarah Brown.

Observation of the playgroup also helps MCAW staff learn more about the pet, which improves the input for adoption counseling. Every playgroup brings every dog involved one step closer to finding their forever homes.

MCAW and Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare (FoMCAW) will host booths featuring information, fun giveaways and more during the event.

Please note that because of the special event, the Palmetto Adoption Center (305 25th St W, Palmetto) will be closed until 2 p.m. The dog parks at G.T. Bray will be closed for public use until 2 p.m.
