Emerson PointMANATEE COUNTY, FL (October 3, 2022) – Manatee County Parks continue to reopen following Hurricane Ian, while some areas remain closed—for now.

Coquina Beach joins Manatee Beach and Bayfront Park in opening to the public on Tuesday, but only from Cortez Beach south to the Concession Stand. The southern part of Coquina remains closed for additional clean-up.

Emerson Point and Robinson Preserves are open to the public (although some trails may be closed in some sections); however, Rye and Duette Preserves remain closed due to high water.

The following Parks are still not open (but should reopen later this week):

  • Bennett Park
  • Conservatory Park
  • Coquina Beach (south of Concession Stand)
  • Palma Sola Park
  • Holmes Beach Tennis
  • Crane Park
The following Parks are currently being used for storm response:
  • Blackstone Park: Being used as FPL staging area and will remain closed TFN
  • Braden River Park: Baseball fields will be ready for use on Wednesday; soccer is closed Indefinitely as it is being used as a debris management site
  • Myakka Park: Closed while being used as command center
