Welcome Sign With Employees and CommissionersMANATEE COUNTY, FL (November 13, 2023) – Manatee County Property Management crews have installed a new “Welcome to Manatee County” sign near the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport along the 8400 block of N Tamiami Trail (US 41).

"This new sign sets the tone for all the great things you can expect the moment you cross the Manatee County line," said Manatee County District Four Commissioner Mike Rahn. "Whether you pass by this sign on your way to work, the beach or to do business, you'll know you're in a county that takes pride in all aspects of life and community."

The new custom-created 6’x22’ fabricated aluminum sign with LED illumination was designed to be simple to read and visually impactful. It replaces signage that had been installed in 2004 by Keep Manatee Beautiful and the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton.

“We have been installing plants and beautifying medians all over the county,” said Acting Property Management Director Carmine DeMilio. “This welcome sign is reflective of all that work.”

In total, Manatee County has rehabbed more than 65 street and highway medians across the county, helping to soften urban hardscapes through shrub, tree and plant installation. The county has also been working with local community groups and homeowners’ associations to maintain the plantings in the “adopt-a-spot” program.
