MANATEE COUNTY, FL (January 10, 2024) – The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners has unanimously approved Patrick Shea as Director of the Utilities Department.
“I really believe in the team that is being built here in Manatee County,” said Shea. “I am excited to contribute to an organization and culture built around work that matters.”
Shea comes to the County from Minnesota, where he was the General Manager for St. Paul Regional Water Services. In that role, he was responsible for a regional water system serving 452,000 residents, overseeing water treatment, supply, storage and distribution and providing leadership and accountability for a dynamic staff.
He graduated from St. Cloud University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and has a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Dakota.
“We are thrilled to present such a thoughtful and accomplished leader to the board,” said Manatee County Deputy Administrator Evan Pilachowski. “He intends to start January 29, after escaping the cold north winds of the Minnesota winter.”
