Decisions of the Board of County Commissioners on
Community Development Project Selections
for FY2024/25 Annual Action Plan

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) voted on June 11, 2024, to select the Community Development projects that will be included in the County’s FY2024/25 Annual Action Plan.

The projects selected were part of the Community Development application process, which expected to allocate $2.5 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Programs (HOME) for FY 2024/25, in addition to the available $550,000 in Community Development Block Grant—CARES Act (CDBG-CV) and over $2 million in HOME Investment Partnership Programs—American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP).

The selection process was comprehensive, involving the submission of a complete application form by local non-profits, developers, and other County departments. An application Review Committee formed by Community & Veterans Services Department staff vetted the quality of the applications, project feasibility, alignment with grant rules, and Community Development Priority Needs and Goals. Their recommendations were then provided to the BCC.
